A seasoned entrepreneur, Trevor has built and advised multiple small businesses while also leading impactful nonprofit work. A self-described country boy with a tech-savvy edge, Trevor is passionate about making artificial intelligence accessible and useful for nonprofits. He understands the pain points nonprofits face and the constant pressure to do more with less.
Trevor is not just a technologist—he’s a mission-driven leader. As the founder of the Shepherd Shield Foundation, a nonprofit inspired by personal family tragedy, Trevor has committed his time and expertise to helping vulnerable youth and supporting families affected by trauma. His nonprofit work originally began by supporting a local children’s home in Alabama, where he and his team provided holiday gifts and support for kids who had been abandoned or displaced. Today, that effort has grown into a full-fledged nonprofit with broader outreach and deeper community impact.
Trevor graduated from Russellville High School while dual-enrolled at Northwest-Shoals Community College in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, where he earned his Associate’s Degree in Computer Science. He went on to study at the University of North Alabama (UNA) in Florence before transferring to the University of Canterbury, where he completed his studies online and earned both a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Technology and a Master of Business Administration in Information Technology.
Outside of his professional work, Trevor is a published poet and a writer currently working on a nonfiction book based on his cybersecurity work during a major municipal ransomware attack. He is also a knowledgeable and impactful speaker, frequently invited to conferences and panel discussions. His ability to translate complex tech solutions into plain language, combined with his deep empathy for those doing mission-driven work, makes him a compelling voice for the future of nonprofit and IT leadership.
